If you look really, REALLY close at the lifeless green spiky stick in the foreground which is my beloved lemon tree grown from a seed two years ago and “killed” over the winter, you will notice small bumps forming where the dead leaves dropped off: NEW LEAVES!!!
The healthy vigourous leaves in the background, meanwhile, are the mango tree sprouted at the same time, which just keeps right on ticking. I’m wondering if the lemon tree’s leaf-drop was a normal “deciduous” thing or because I left it starved for water too many times.
Do you bring the lemon tree in during winter? I would love to let our lemon tree get bigger but then I would not be able to winter it inside.
ReplyDeleteYup! This was its third winter indoors. Citrus trees and Canada just don't mix. :-(
ReplyDeleteYay!!! So happy for you!
